Dane started the vacation off with a fun fishing trip with Papa. They spent the morning catching trout and tadpoles...which Dane promptly began begging to take home with us on the airplane. And he continued to beg for the entire duration of our trip (thanks Papa!) I started our trip off with a visit to the dentist! Uncle Dave was great to fit me in and fill a cavity. Not the greatest way to begin a vacation, but I felt very grateful for his generosity and time!
A huge highlight for me was seeing my sister's new home in Dupont. She had done such a fabulous job remodeling and decorating! I loved it!!! Of course afterwards, Mom, J and I went out shopping....another highlight.... and even though we didn't get the mantle in my mom's home perfect, we did get it started;) Next, we drove out to Michelle and Aaron's new home in Kenmore-- near Seattle and had the greatest time meeting her little twins- Scout and Olive, loving her new home (which was gorgeous!), spending the morning celebrating June's 4th birthday! And spending the night in a hotel....swimming, eating popcorn and staying up late!
Mike and Jess drove down from Yakima with darling little Wade. We had such a fun evening with all the cousins, aunts,uncles, grammy and papa, over at Dave and Jen's enjoying pizza/movie night! Again, I got my baby fix meeting baby Wade and darling Penny!
On Sunday, we all enjoyed the day over at my parent's house for a yummy BBQ, complete with Dad's home-made potato salad and Jen's delicious deviled eggs! Having everyone together was a true joy as we laughed and joked and chatted all afternoon. I missed having Blake and my other kids around to join in the fun.... they were the only ones missing! Although Bishop Pace was missing for most of these activities too, busy man that he is!
All in all, it was a perfect vacation and Dane and I were so happy we had the chance to visit with everyone and meet new little members of the family. Thanks to my Mom and Dad for all they did to make it so great. We are very blessed and we know it!
