Beach House Vacation 2014

Well.... we were three weeks into the hectic school and soccer routine that is our life.... when so happily, we had the blessed opportunity to take a break from it all and head to the beach with the Marston crew!  Grandma and Grandpa had organized a wonderful week on Beach Road-- San Juan, CA in a beautiful home right on the beach front.  The home was clean and big and beautiful. It was beyond amazing to hear the waves crashing on the beach day and night.... to smell that salty, sea air and feel the relaxation that is a beach vacation!  We were slightly disappointed that a storm a few weeks prior had caused a small cliff to develop in the back yard-- separating the beach from our house, but despite that little hiccup, it was absolutely LOVELY in every way.

We enjoyed taking small day trips to the tide pools, baby beach at Doheny, teaching Evelyn to surf, eating out at Ruby's-- our favorite diner, visiting Zoomars Petting Zoo for all sorts of hugging and squeezing little animal fun and horseback riding of course!  We loved lounging around playing games, having Grandma there to help with homework, watching movies in Grandma and Grandpa's big bed, and making s'mores in the evening.  Loved going hot tubbing on the back porch, walking along the beach and playing in the waves.  Fun to celebrate Troy's college graduation with a "You're a Smart Cookie" graduation party and cookies galore.  So much fun to play Bean Boozled with the whole family... watching Stacy meditate in attempt to throw us off on her bean choice and Grandpa cheat by swallowing the bean whole without ever biting into it!  Evelyn took up paddle boarding and Dane and Grant enjoyed many an afternoon playing soccer in the sand.  It really was such a treat and truly a joy to be together as a family for the week in such a beautiful place.  We needed that time away!  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a wonderful Fall vacation!
