Happy Halloween!

It was such a treat to have my mom in town for Halloween night!  We really made the most of it.  I think the best part was handing out candy!  Grammy, Evelyn and I took turns scaring all of the poor trick or treaters to death!  I had a few scary masks I'd saved for an occasion such as this.  We had the scare down to a perfect science! Evelyn would slowly open the door and then either Grammy or I would jump out and scream "Boo"!  Fun times, I tell you.  Really funny reactions that had me chuckling all evening.

We put together a spooky dinner for the kids with green slimy spaghetti and eyeball meatballs.  The coolest part for the kids were the Shirley Temples-- Sprite with a shot of blood .  Evelyn wasn't so into trick or treating this year.  She's not a huge candy fan and she preferred the handing out over the collecting.  Similarly, she didn't spend much time dressing up.  Her costume was super mellow-- cat ears and a tail.  Strange and sad for me!  I never want my kids to get too big for trick or treating and all of the fun festivities that accompany Halloween.  Heck, I still like to dress up and scare the living daylights out of children.... I sure hope my child hasn't become the more mature one:)

Dane and Grant stayed out ALL evening gathering candy.   They were such a cute pair of Super Heroes-- Grant as the Hulk and Dane as Captain America. Grant changed to SpiderMan at one point.... he couldn't decide on his favorite.  Cutest little girl was dressed as a candy corn witch and pretty much stole the show this year.  She loved running up to the doors and sweetly saying "Trick or Treat!"  Yeah.... she got a lot of attention from neighbors and random teens walking the streets.  All in all, a very fun, very frightful Halloween night.
