New Year's Day

Love when Blake has the day off....and we get to spend that time together as a family.  The kids' first pick for a family day, the very FIRST day of 2015 was heading up to Grandma and Grandpa's house for some leisure and fun.  We did it all!  Chuck E Cheese, Night at the Museum 3, Pick Up Stix and then shoe shopping at Carlsbad Outlets.  Anna was ALMOST old enough to sit through the movie.  She lasted about 3/4 of the way through- which was great, considering it wasn't even a cartoon!

It really is getting so much easier to head out as a family on fun adventures, and I love it. (Always very helpful to have extra hands-- Grandma is awesome!)  But  I remember like it was yesterday-- Anna as a newborn! Grant at 2 years old! And then Ev and Dane still needing quite a bit of our attention.  Dane was barely 5 when Anna was born.  Blake and I felt as though our little family were a three ring circus in public! We rarely went out all together, unless to a park or zoo.  Most of the times, we'd divide and conquer... Blake taking the boys and me with the girls.  But we really are functioning quite well these days in public and it is wonderful to have that freedom- naps are not as critical, hopefully potty training right around the corner will help too!  Love this sweet little family of mine.  I always feel so grateful that I get to be a mom.  Maybe because there was a while where I didn't know for sure if it would really happen!  But, now that it's here, it's such a blessing- I love watching my kids grow and become the amazing little people that they are.  Happy New Year!
