Grammy and Papa's visit

We had such a great week with Grammy and Papa in town-- visiting for Dane's big baptism day.
My kids LOVE these special visits from my parents and I love them too.  We always live it up-- sight seeing, holiday baking, shopping, putting my Dad to work on various tasks... this year it was the Pinewood Derby car.  My dad is great at building fast cars-- and seeing as this is Dane's first year to race, he wanted a fast car.  The rainy weekend made for a perfect excuse to set up shop in the garage and get to work.  Grant was able to make a car too- so fun.  I was sure grateful to have my mom around . She's currently serving as the Stake Young Women's president in her area and she was able to help me with all sorts of YW business that I needed to learn!  Teaching the current curriculum, New Beginnings program, putting together an activity calendar. I was so grateful for all of her help.  Of course my mom and I enjoyed many shopping days away from the kids.  It was so rejuvenating to have that time with just she and I.  Loved every minute.

Blake had a few days off during my parents visit and we loved heading downtown to tour the USS Midway-- something I'd wanted to do for a long while.  We also took the kids to Urban Jungle for jumping and climbing and sliding fun!  Whenever we have company a fast favorite is Old Town.  You see, Old Town has a wonderful old fashioned candy store and old fashioned rock store.  Dane was spoiled as Papa bought him the special rock he had been dying to own for the past year!  He had saved $30.00 for this precious stone!  At check out Dane attempted to hand the cashier his money, but Papa intervened and bought it for him.... Dane was so grateful!  It was sweet.   We so enjoyed our time with my parents!  It really was the perfect week and hard at the end to say goodbye, as it always is!

Haha.... catching air!  This slide was SUPER fast! I'm so glad she didn't really hurt herself~!
