Valentine's Day 2015

Valentine's Day was full of all the fun stuff you would typically imagine in a household full of energetic, adorable children!  Darling valentine's cards for classmates, flowers from Grandpa for each of his granddaughters and for me! Valentine's Day parties at school, silly valentine's from me, hidden treats, and special heart candy activities.

This year I put together a huge platter of muffins for Blake to take to work-- labeled, "For my stud muffin".  He's usually no fan of sentimental or cheesy valentine gifts, but I think he really liked this fun little treat platter:)  We also put together a sweet little card with pictures of all the kids holding hearts and smiling.  I texted him the pic collage and he loved it!

We try never to miss our annual heart attack this time of year!  Love to read the kids sweet notes to one another and to me!  Love to see how excited they are and proud to have their hearts displayed on their door for a few weeks.  Definitely a winner of a valentine tradition, particularly as the kids age a little and are able to write better and better!

And another Valentine tradition we started last year-- the Marston Family "We love to be a family" Day!  So easy and fun!  The kids brainstorm for FHE a few activities that they would love to do together.  I take their ideas and sketch them on a Trader Joe's brown bag with outlines of hearts for clues to lead to the next activity.  This year we enjoyed a yummy picnic at the park, a family hike, movie night--- with super delicious popcorn bar, and games.  We had Ev's friend Reha with us all day and joked that she was an adopted member of the Marston family:)
