Thankfully, though I don't live close to my own family, they are so willing to come out and visit and they seem to enjoy our family spending weeks up in WA every summer- ha! It must be a little tiring for my parents, but they never complain. We are so blessed to live by Blake's family and to be able to have them close for holidays and birthdays and breaks! And because we've lived so many places, we are blessed to have friends from all over the US to visit with! It is always a whirlwind and crazy busy with guests in town... but also a treasure that I wouldn't trade for the world.
So grateful we were able to spend a few days with the Bachmans and then later in the month with the Rustands. Our kids couldn't get enough of hanging out with their old childhood friends. We enjoyed Seaworld one day and late night sports on the front lawn. Cathy and I loved meeting for a long breakfast sans kids!!! It was a wonderful visit.
We continued to be on full vacation mode when the Rustands came to town. We spent the days with them at their hotel on mission beach... sunning, soaking and for the girls-- dancing and creating musical.ly's . Shockingly, I even let the kids skip two days of school!! We had fun beaching it, swimming, hot tubing, having a sleep over, easter egg hunting, in-in-out eating, and with only one mishap on the treadmill, I'd call the weekend a success! (Grant fell off the treadmill and hurt his lower throat/chest pretty badly!)
I also enjoyed a perfectly wonderful mom's weekend away at the beginning of the month to attend Time Out for Women with a few of my friends. This was such a treat! I love the group of girls I live by and interact with. They are awesome in every way. It was so uplifting and wonderful to attend this conference, eat out, shop, stay up late chatting and just feel free from any and all parenting for the weekend. So much gratitude to Blake for allowing it to happen. He's a keeper!
