Happy 5th Birthday Anna!

An excerpt from your journal, Anna!
Anna Paige Marston
Age 5

Favorite Things:
Anna! At such a young age, you LOVE clothes and make up! The make-up part may have something to do with big sis and the fact that she puts mascara and lick-stip on you at least once a week:)  You are more interested in clothes, shoes and lip stick then you are in toys or dolls- though you love playing baby and with any and every figurine known to man.  You are so very imaginative and will play in your room for hours if left to your own devices.  You make up all sorts of pretend play with your dolls, with your princesses figures, with legos, play food, stationary, and stuffed animals.  I love to stand outside your door and listen to you talk to yourself- it is absolutely darling.  Anna- you are an extremely social kid and you love your friends- particularly, Nora!  She is tops in your book… along with her little sister Millie.  Although at times the two of you “break up,” more often then not you are always on the same page.  You have many friends and you love each of them very much.  You are a model student in preschool and your teachers are already mourning the loss of you for next year.  You are helpful, kind and a great leader.  The kids with special needs in your classroom look up to you and love you because you treat them with love and kindness.  One little boy in particular, named Gavin- is a favorite of yours and he adores you.  I am so proud of the way you treat others.  You are loving and kind and wonderful.
Your favorite TV show is Sophia the First.  Your favorite food is tortillini, pancakes, yogurt drinks, mac n cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, and chick fil a chicken nuggets.  You also love cheese, apples, oranges and bananas. Your favorite hobby are coloring, working on “homework” while the boys are doing their homework- you do a preschool book to prep you for reading and you love it.  You love to read with mom or dad, you love to go anywhere and support your siblings in all they do- plays, recitals, soccer or basketball games.  That is so much fun for you and you cheer loudly from the sidelines with more gusto then most!  You love to get your arms, legs, tummy or back tickled.  You love to eat treats!  You love shopping with mom and riding with dad in his car.  You are so eager and excited to grow up and love when you are allowed to ride in a booster instead of your big car seat.  You love music so much and know the words to all the songs we listen to— you sing loudly in the car and it makes everyone happy to hear you.  Lately, you can even rap all the lyrics to Hamilton!  It’s super cute.  You also love gymnastics and going to gymnastics camps with big sis.  You have a couple of leotards and you wear them around everywhere.  You love to go to primary and school.  There is rarely a day that you are not happy and smiling. You are up for anything and always have a good time no matter where we go. You love to ask questions and be a part of every conversation.  You are extremely socially aware and mature for your age.

Ways you have Grown:
Anna you are in the 50th percentile for your weight and height.  You have the cutest little blond curls and big beautiful blue eyes.  You are strong and fast and love to play soccer or ride scooters.  You sleep through the night— you go to bed about 8:30 and wake up about 7:00 on weekdays and 7:30 on weekends.  You eat well and obey.  You rarely throw a fit.  You get along with others and are a happy go lucky little girl who goes with the flow of life!  I am so grateful for the funny things you say and do and the perspective you give me almost every day.  When I’m stressed or get a little upset with you- you withdraw and then tell me that you have your feelings hurt because I was mad at you.  I’m always amazed at your communication skills and ability to nail your feelings surrounding any situation.  You stand up for yourself amongst your siblings and friends but you are not too bossy.  You love people more then anything on earth.  You are a huge fan of your Grammy and Papa and your Grandma and Grandpa.  You love your cousins and Uncles and Aunts.  You learned how to swim this year and you love to practice this skill.  You love to learn letters and numbers and you are extremely smart in all of your endeavors. You love to dance and sing and your communication is pretty impressive for a four year old.  You love to get your nails painted and to pick out your own hairstyle.  You are very particular in what you wear and the way you wear your hair.  You are more fashion conscious then your own mom!

Memories:  This year you traveled to Tucson for New Year’s, Seattle for the summer, Disneyland with all the cousins and Grammy and Papa, and Disneyland with Grandma and Grandpa.  You loved visiting SeaWorld and going on Splash Mountain for the first time.  You attended gymnastics camp and tried out for a play with big sis!  You were cast as Aladdin’s sidekick- Abu.  You were seriously so so cute all dressed up as a little dancing monkey and we loved watching you!  This year you attended preschool with Miss Ann’s class at Highland Ranch, your room was a mess 100% of the time and you asked to be cuddled to sleep every night.  You took good care of your brothers and sister and watched tween themed TV/movies because that’s what was on and you went with it.  You are so flexible and funny.  So kind and good.  We are truly so grateful to have a little girl like you in our lives and don’t know what we would do without the ray of sunshine you add to our every day.  You are my best little buddy and love you to pieces Anna Paige Marston!
