Ah! The day finally arrived! All of Evelyn's hard work paid off and she did an absolutely outstanding job in her performance as a bird girl for Seussical the Musical! So proud of her and her diligence in attending so many practices and also in having a wonderful attitude despite the fact that she was bummed not to get a lead in the play. A bird girl isn't so bad, but she desperately wanted to be Gertrude, or Mayzie or Sour Kangaroo. I know it was difficult for her to watch her friends perform these rolls- so I was very proud of her gracious attitude despite it all. And she shined on stage no matter the role! We loved watching and were so grateful to so many friends and family who came to support. Grandma helped with the kids all week-- she also helped me with tireless hours of crafting for my star grams booth! I always tell her- there's no way I could even do the play without her help!!! Grandpa, Troy and Catie all came down to watch-- such a long drive so we were very very grateful to them. Loved having the Douds, Ashcrafts, Laura Miles (Ev's piano teacher), Gondas, Farrs, Furhmans, Brinckleys, Hansens, Konolds, Kuletos, Ahlstroms and Joffs all come to the show!!! It is so fun for Evelyn to have friends in the audience watching the show.
This year my job changed from a rehearsal mom to a star grams mom. It was a lot of work coming up with ideas and then crafting them and packaging them and selling them-- but it was really fun and we made quite a bit of money! I'm so happy with how it turned out and I think I'll plan to do this for the next show, despite the extra work load. So grateful Evelyn has the opportunity to be in a theatre group with such great morals and standards and with a director who teaches the kids all about love and esteeming others above themselves. She is amazing and makes the shows such awesome learning opportunities. So grateful Evelyn is able to be a part of the TCA group!
