SO lucky to have my Mom and Dad out to visit during the holiday season this year-- a first for them! Loved taking them to so many awesome festive activities and having them around to help me with MANY various Christmas projects. I worked them to the bone! Shopping, crafting, holiday baking, cooking, wood-working, driving to soccer, driving to school, helping with homework, playing outside on the swings, and with the boys, going to soccer games, reading to the kids, etc. It was so nice to have my parents here to laugh with and talk with, to help me and spend time with my children. I'm so very grateful for them and love them to pieces. It was terrible to see them go after such a fun trip.
I think one of the highlights of their visit was certainly our trip up to LA to visit Universal Studios. Evelyn, my mom and I have been.. but the rest of the family had never visited... so it was very fun to take them around and especially to walk around Harry Potter world for the boys. They adored it! My Dad was an excellent sport riding all of the simulators!!!! Wow- that couldn't have been fun-haha. We loved staying in the beautiful Hilton attached to the Studios and walking around Universal City walk for dinners both nights. With the Christmas music playing and the gorgeous Christmas trees all around, it felt about as festive as could be. The park was pretty near empty and we enjoyed taking pictures with all of the characters and watching all of the shows. The kids rode every ride and had a blast on the Studio Tour. All in all, a wonderful, fun and relaxing day and a perfect Christmas present from my parents. Who needs gifts when you can have fun trips instead? Totally the way to go!
Stay tuned for part 2 of my parents visit!!! Excuse me as I have about a gazillion holiday duties to attend to:)
