With the wonderful weather we enjoyed last week, the kiddos and I spent every day at the park and playground. One day in particular, Evelyn cracked me up as she played with a few new friends on the slide. I was standing far below her, talking with the parents. One father asked, “how old is she?” I answered, and he complimented her language skills. Before I could utter a thank you…Evelyn, with hand on hip, proclaimed down to the man, “And I also speak Spanish.”
Our family has always teased my sister who we believe has a radar ability and is able to detect others speaking about her from miles away. I suppose Evelyn has inherited this gene. I love how interested she is in conversations, particularly those involving her little self.
Oh, and for the record, Evelyn does not speak Spanish. Have no idea where or how she thought that up!
