A fun visit

My friend Shannon came out to visit last week.  We’ve been friends since graduate school and it was so great to have her come stay with us.  She had never been to New York, and I was nervous about taking the kids all day every day into the city for sight seeing, so I suggested she bring her sisters along. The plan was perfect… the three of them went out every day sight seeing…then I’d meet them in the evenings for all sorts of fun things.  We saw Mary Poppins on Broadway, tried out a ton of great restaurants, toured the Met, took a horse and buggy ride through Central Park, walked the Brooklyn Bridge. We even saw a professional model shoot.  I framed the shot along with the hired photographer and I can’t imagine his turning out any better than mine.  Maybe I should go into fashion photography-ha!

The very last night, we rode the Staten Island Ferry so that we could see the Statue of Liberty all lit up.  I’ve never done this at night, and it was really cool.  Of course, I didn’t have my tripod with me, but I liked this shot that I did capture (kidding!)

I think my favorite part of living in New York is having my family and friends out to visit.  There is always so much to do and it makes for great times and fun memories.
