Rockefeller Tree Lighting

It certainly sounded exciting.  My friend Cathy and I were eager to hear Harry Connick Jr, Beyonce, and of course the Jonas Brothers (kidding on that last one!)  But alas, the evening did not turn out as we had planned.  We emerged  from the subway to find barricaded streets, policemen everywhere- and just way, way too many people in general.

Of course, we never assumed  that we would actually make it anywhere near the front of the crowds-- we had only hoped to worm our way in somewhere... even if only to catch a glimpse of the tree being lit or to hear from afar the Christmas concert.  It wasn't meant to be, and so we decided to forget about it and move on to Plan B:  dessert, of course~!  We walked the few blocks to Serendipity where we enjoyed their famous Frozen Hot Chocolate and Forbidden Broadway Fudge Sundae. It was so fun to walk by all of the amazing Christmas displays in the department store windows along 5th avenue... and it was a great evening, despite our initial disappointment.
