Cousin June in San Diego

It was so wonderful to have my sister, bro-in law and their sweet little June in town for the week.  Love them all to pieces, but I must say that June stole the show for the most part! She is such a spunky and fun little girl who says and does such cute, funny things! It was truly a treat to spend so much time together.  Aaron was only able to stay a few days before heading back to work, but we tried to squeeze in as much fun as we could for his short stay.

I give myself props for setting up the perfect date for Michelle and Aaron to enjoy-- a free outdoor concert at Balboa Park and then dinner afterwards at their choice of a list of amazing restaurants downtown. I won't hold it against them that they showed up with a bag of In-N-Out at 10pm.  It is my favorite hamburger joint... and can be just as good as any fancy restaurant- ha!

We spent time at the Del Mar fair and had a blast, crowded as it was.  The kids loved the funnel cakes, the rides and the joyous atmosphere that always accompanies any good fair. Dane was bound and determined to win at a carnival game.  He was willing to give up his one ride, and his one choice of food item just to play the fair games....and was elated when he discovered a game that pretty much guaranteed a stuffed toy in the end!  All three kids were very much roped in afterwards and walked away with a stuffed snake each-- what more could one ask for?

June was a huge fan of the beach and our favorite this time round was the awesome Cardiff by the Sea State Beach where we were able to jump in the waves AND explore the tide pools-- collecting over 15 crabs! It was so fun to watch June play in the water.... Aunt Michelle even got in and jumped the waves.  So wonderful that June was able to take swimming lessons for the week-- along with my boys. She did an awesome job and I dare say she'll be swim safe very soon!

Loved going out to movies with my sis, going to the mall and just hanging out in the evenings.  Going through the terrible loss she and Aaron have experienced this past month, they've been stronger than I could ever imagine.  Sweet angel Wyatt was always there in our hearts and minds every moment-- we talked about him and wondered what he would have been like at the beach or in the pool. I pray every day that Aaron and Michelle will heal and find peace despite such a huge loss of their sweet little boy.
Having them out this week was very special for me and my family.  We love our Aunt Bun and Uncle Aaron-- and especially our little June bug.
