Such a character this kid is. I’m the first to admit that Grant has definitely given me a run for my money throughout the toddler years. So extremely active, a little stubborn, SO much energy and enthusiasm, maybe a slightly shortened attention span? yes... these personality characteristics created quite a handful as a toddler. But the upside? as a three and a half year old.... oh goodness-- such a charming and funny little boy! Grant is truly a perfectly sweet and fun-to-be-around child. He is always happy, he is always spunky, and says the cutest things to boot. For instance:
On a foggy day: “mom it’s really soggy out here, isn’t it?
After seeing a big daddy long legs that maybe looked a little like a mosquito:
“MOM! I see a mosquito bite up there!!!! We got to get it!”
His word for gatorade (favorite drink): “mom, can I please have an alligator drink?”
Of course, I never correct him. And one of my very favorite Grant statements: when I’m asking him if he’d like to do something or eat something, instead of just no thanks... he replies, “no not at all, but thanks, mom” It’s said very quickly and matter of factly. Not sure where he came up with that, but it’s pretty cute to hear it a few times every day.
Now one last matter of business on the subject. Grant has started soccer this fall and boy oh boy! The child is determined. I mean to say--- he will stop at NOTHING to score goals during his games. And being a team full of 3-4-5 year olds, he is one of the youngest, but that doesn’t stop our little red flaming ninja (team name). He is aggressive 100 percent of the time. Maybe a little too much so? But seriously so funny and cute to watch our little Grant out on the soccer field-- living his dreams. The child has wanted to play on a team since he was 18 months old-- sitting on the sidelines watching Dane and Evelyn play. And it’s finally HIS turn. We are so proud of Grant and so grateful he’s our little enthusiastic, energetic, adorable three year old boy.
