We had such fun at Grant's birthday party this year. A family party with Grandma and Grandpa who so graciously drove down and planned all of the fun games and activities! The festivities started with a ring at the door. The kids ran to welcome visitors, but instead found fun little Halloween bags of goodies and no visitors at all. It wasn't until a few moments later that Grandma and Grandpa arrived dressed in Halloween costumes to die for! Grandma as a clown and Grandpa as a biker. Super cute and fun for the kids. We played our traditional mummy wrap, Halloween twister, pin the bowtie/heart on Mr. Bones, Halloween charades and Bingo to name a few! We enjoyed Grant's favorite dinner... corn on the cob. And if it were up to him, that would have been the end of it. But for sides, Mom thought it best to add chicken and rolls and other such things.
It was a wonderful day and ended on an exciting note as we put together packages to ding dong ditch three friends! Each child picked one friend and off we went! We laughed all the way thinking of last year how Dane and Grandma had run up to the door, but then when Grandma asked if Dane would like to ring the door bell, he jetted off as quick as lightening, leaving her behind to do the dirty work! Fun times and such a cute tradition-- 4th year in a row of doing this at Halloween:)
I think Grant felt pretty special, pretty celebrated and pretty loved by his family as he turned the ripe old age of four.
