One of my favorite aspects of Valentine’s Day is certainly the school Valentine. I know it isn’t necessary to go to so much trouble when one can just buy a box set! My kids wouldn’t mind. No school mate has ever said so much as one word to compliment the cuteness of it all. And yet, I love the whole process to pieces!
It was quite fun when only Evelyn attended school and she and I looked and looked at little sayings online to come up with the perfect fit. And now, it’s even better with three attending and each one so particular about what they’d like to hand out, what they’d like their card to say. And I’ve even gone so far as to put together a Valentine for Anna to give out! Crazy? yes! But fun for sure!
We had some fun this past weekend dot painting hearts, baking pretzel treats and creating sweetheart robots! Evelyn has outgrown our crafting projects these days and it breaks my heart! Thankfully the boys still adore a good ol' arts and crafts session with their mama!
But more than anything the past few weeks, my boys are aching to ride their bikes. Dane's new birthday bike started the whole obsession. Seeing big bro ride around the neighborhood cul-de-sacs created an immediate urgency for Grant to learn to ride without training wheels. And so he quickly learned and now can be found riding around night and day on Dane's old bike, which is really too small for him, but then again, you won't find him complaining!
The Olympics have begun!!! And it has been a big deal at the Marston home.
Very adorably, Evelyn and Grant put on their own Olympic show this past weekend. Such a darling routine created by Evelyn.... and carried out by Grant. Complete with hand stands, cartwheels, leaps through the air and final posing. So funny!
One last note....we met Dane for lunch at school last week to his thrill and excitement. Skipped Anna's nap, grabbed McDonalds and chatted away with 25 1st graders. That's what I did with my one hour of free time last Friday. But it was worth it... I'd do anything for that boy.
