March Happenings....

The month is winding down.... Easter decorations are going up!  In fact, Henrike and I put together such a fun little Easter egg sculpture!  We were quite proud of ourselves...ha!  Crafting with friends is always a highlight of my month.  We are anticipating the arrival of my Mom tonight.  YAY!  It's always a wonderful time when Grammy is in town.

I've continued to volunteer in the kids' classrooms.... teaching the seven habits of happy kids.  I can't say enough how much I love doing this.  I know every child in each class and they are so sweet.  I love knowing the kids' friends and their teachers.  I love teaching guidance lessons, it reminds me of how great it was working as a school psychologist.  Although I love being a mom and feel very fulfilled, I miss working with groups of kids and teaching them what they need to know in order to be successful.  So, this opportunity is a perfect fit.  I love coming up with the actual lesson plans too! This month we discussed "think win-win".  I've used this habit countless times at home with the kids when conflict arises.  It's such a powerful idea.  The thought that there is a third alternative.... and that you can come up with it and make everyone happy in the process!  All of the habits are amazing and it is such a fun curriculum to teach.

We enjoyed so much spending the weekend in Orange County for Troy's birthday and to be a part of Conner's Eagle Court of Honor.  Dane and Grant were able to get quite the introduction to scouting through this event.  Marianne had put together such an amazing night and the slide show alone was enough to convince Dane that scouting was something of tremendous value!  He can hardly wait !

And then... saving the best for last... my cute sister had her twin babies!!!!! They are darling, precious and such a blessing.  We are all beyond thrilled that they have arrived safe and sound.  Olive Mackenzie and Scout Phoenix.  So cute!  Love that family!!! Congratulations Michelle and Aaron!
