A pretty fun, low-key St. Patrick's Day this year. We did the traditional fruit loop rainbow craft that the kids love and that is so easy for me to prep for. We had a leprechaun coloring contest and a wonderful family night that discussed the difference between "luck" and "hard work". The kids then filled out a cute print detailing all of the "lucky" things in their life... which really were blessings! And we watched Disney's "the ant and the grasshopper" video about hard work and good choices. I love holiday themed family nights!
On St. Patrick's Day a little leprechaun brought four small notes... he even left a magnifying glass for each child to read the notes. Along with the notes were funny little surprises. Lucky Charms cereal for breakfast, a rainbow treat after dinner (skittles), gold coins and then paper shamrocks scattered all over each child's beds. It was pretty fun. How many more years do I have before they think this stuff is too silly? Ev already seemed a little too old! But she was good to play along for everyone else's sake!
