Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was wonderful this year.  We traveled up to Los Angeles to visit with Geraldine and spend the day with her.  She was in great spirits and it was truly a special and sweet day for Blake and I to talk with her about her amazing life and memories.  She is an incredible woman and we've been so blessed to have her in our lives.

On our way home, we decided to stop off in Santa Monica.... wow!  Forgot what it was like to maneuver your way through a crowded city street with four children.  It reminded me of our life in NYC.  Can't believe I traveled all throughout the city with three kids on a constant basis in and out of subway stations, buses, and cabs.  Those were fun but very crazy times!  I remember one day I rode to Manhattan on the subway, took a ferry over to Staten Island, then caught the bus to our location over there and then hailed a cab on the way home.... all with three kids in tow!
We had a great family day in Santa Monica and the kids enjoyed the hustle bustle of it all. They were excellent during dinner at Johnny Rockets and behaved so well on the Pier.  They each had $5 to spend.  Dane and Grant wanted Dipping Dots and Evelyn wanted a scary ride.  Fun day.

On Easter Sunday we had the special privilige of watching General Conference with Grandma and Grandpa.  Kids are still not quite there with their short attention spans, but we had a fun time trying to earn toppings for our ice cream sundaes that evening.  Grandpa made his yummy pancake breakfast and then later in the day, we had the best time at Grandma's Splash for Cash!  She had stuffed all the easter eggs with $$ and thrown them in the pool.  Thankfully it was a really warm day and the kids LOVED diving in and collecting.  Such a cute plan and seriously, the best time.  I don't think Ev, Dane or Grant (or even Anna) will forget that anytime soon-- they were thrilled.  At home, the kids opened up a small Easter basket from mom and dad filled with a few spring items like flip flops, and swim suits.   Though it looks like it was all fun and games.... we truly felt the spirit of our Savior and loved celebrating His blessed Resurrection this month.  We especially loved listening to the Prophet and feeling of His spirit and council during General Conference.  We are so blessed and count our testimony of Jesus Christ as our greatest treasure.
