Flag Football Season

As basketball winded down and the spring season approached, Blake and I wondered what sport we should sign the boys up for!  Club soccer is year round with practices-- but no games until summer tournaments and fall league.  And the boys look so forward to games on Saturdays!  In fact, 3-4 times per week, Grant wakes up and asks.... "Mom, is it game day??"  They both live for sports!  We contemplated the rec soccer league, but didn't want them to burn out on soccer.  We considered baseball..... but ugh!  Neither Blake nor I wanted to sit through those long games!!  Maybe next year- we decided. And then we came across the NFL football league in the Poway area.  And we felt we had a winning idea.  And it really has been!  We LOVE watching these boys play flag football-- and boy, do they ever LOVE playing it!  We know it is a road to nowhere.  Our boys aren't ever going to be big enough to play tackle football and I'm hoping they never even consider it!  But flag football is just extremely fun to watch.  They've put a lot of hard work into learning this sport and I've been so proud of the end result.  It's kind of hard to say goodbye to the season!
