Grandma and Grandpa's Pirate Party

So fun to celebrate summer's arrival with Grandma and Grandpa and their amazing pirate party!!  This is such a fun tradition for our kids to come up and have a fun adventure with a different theme each year.  The kids eagerly awaited the festivities after receiving an invitation with pirate garb the week prior.  First to kick off the day, Evelyn did make up and hair-- she's just a little too old to get into the whole thing, and so this was a cute job for her to take on.  After they were all set... the kids set out on a treasure hunt and collected treasure ($1 bills)  from Grandpa after guessing clues correctly. Each child had a darling little pirate pail to collect their treasure. The kids were interviewed by Grandpa to make sure they understood pirate lingo and the history involved.  They then "walked the plank" into the pool where they were thrilled to see a new toy-- a big huge pirate ship!!  This entertained everyone for hours:) Loved everything about this day and so grateful to Grandma and Grandpa for being the awesome grandparents that they are!  Such a fun way to kick off summer.
