Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving, we decided to celebrate a week early with the Marstons!  And a few days late with the Stevens!  That left the actual day of Thanksgiving wide open for celebrating our Evelyn's 13th birthday!   It was a fun day- but one in which we will always remember eating bananas and ramen for dinner-- ha!  On Thanksgiving day!  We had a plan..... it just didn't turn out quite as we had hoped. You see... we were planning on visiting SeaWorld for the day (Evelyn's choice) and then heading to Cheesecake Factory for a yummy dinner.  I had checked ahead of time and the website indicated it would be open on Thanksgiving!  So we enjoyed a wonderful sunny day at Sea World.  Grant rode Manta for the first time and to appease Evelyn on her birthday- Grant, Dane and Anna rode Journey to Atlantis!  It was amazing walking around without a stroller and practically having the whole park to ourselves!  Perfect day!  On the way home, starving for our big birthday/Thanksgiving dinner....we called Cheesecake Factory to make sure they were open and found out sadly, that they were closed until 6 pm.  It was currently 3pm.  And we were starving.  So we called a few other restaurants-- all closed or completely booked!  Go figure!  So we decided to head home and grab a snack-- then head back out at 6 for dinner.  But alas, once home, we snacked and relaxed and simply did not feel like going out again!  So it was that our Thanksgiving dinner consisted of ramen, bananas, and the like.  Haha!  Of course we had s'mores per Evelyn's request for dessert and it was a marvelous day, nonetheless.  And an unforgettable one too!

Prior to this crazy non-traditional Thanksgiving day, we were able to eat a delicious dinner with the Marstons!! We enjoyed all the yummy food our little tummies could hold and had such a fun time meeting Catie's parents, playing with Troy and Stacy's dogs, eating nothing bundt cakes for Ev's birthday, playing games and being together with our family.  And then the day after Thanksgiving, my parents came into town and my Mom cooked us a yummy turkey, mashed potatoes and rolls.  So- we were certainly not deprived of all that goes along with the celebration that is Thanksgiving.  We felt very blessed in deed and very grateful for all of the blessings we hold dear- most importantly our families, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
